We believe that one of the best ways of reaching out and proclaiming the Gospel is to actively plant churches. As a church plant ourselves, we also know that church planting requires patience and nurture, much like planting and developing a tree. In time, plants grow strong and spread seedlings themselves that develop into a forest. Our aim with church planting is exactly the same. It is another means by which we demonstrate our motto of “every one reaching one to reach one more.”
Our denomination aims to ultimately have a church within driving distance of every New Zealander. We have focused our efforts on developing churches throughout the Lower North Island. Since our own beginning in 2003, we have planted, or helped plant, three further churches so far. These congregations are:
- Grace Community Fellowship, New Plymouth
- Grace Presbyterian Church, Whanganui
- Grace Presbyterian Church, Palmerston North.
We hope to plant further congregations in the coming years. In particular, we are interested in developing congregations throughout the Wellington region (including churches in the Hutt Valley, Porirua, and on the Kapiti Coast), and congregations in the Manawatu, Wairarapa, and Hawke’s Bay.
If you are interested in becoming involved in a church plant anywhere in the Lower North Island at some point, we’d love to hear from you. Alternatively, if you would like to support church planting in the Lower North Island, we are happy to help you direct your giving to congregations (developing or planting) which are in need of support.
So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.” – 1 Corinthians 3:7
